Do you want to let your creativity shine? You would be amazed at how much a small DIY design project can enhance your outdoor space at little cost to you. Today, we are going to share with you some of our favorite whimsical, cute, and fun DIY outdoor design projects you can do on your own or with your family to add a little extra pizzazz to your outdoor space.
DIY Outdoor Design Projects
Painted Rocks
Whether you are an accomplished artist or a mom with little kids, this project is fun for everyone. You can paint little creatures like ladybugs, frogs, or squirrels or have a wide variety of anything and everything. We particularly love adding painted rocks to drought-resistant spaces as they add a perfect splash of color.
Fairy Houses
Make your outdoor space magical with a fairy house! If you have a tree or even a large rock, you can use this as your base. Essentially, you are going to create a mini home where fairies would live. You can include a tiny house, stairs, fake mushrooms, and anything else you want to make it extra magical.
Clay Pot Lighthouse
Many of our clients reside close to the water and enjoy a nautical theme. A clay pot lighthouse is an easy and fun project you can DIY in an afternoon. You just need three clay pots and their saucers, a candle, and paint! All you do is stack the pots upside down in a stack and paint the lighthouse to match your color theme (there are many different designs online). In the end, the candle fits on top to make it functional!
Crystal Balls
Crystal balls are a lovely way to add sparkle and color to your outdoor space. You will superglue water-resistant crystals onto a spherical shape (like a bowling ball) to make them. You can do any design that inspires you. We recommend doing three crystal balls of varying sizes and grouping them for a cute look.
Stone Birdhouses
We all want to hear the chirping of birds in our outdoor space, which is why you need to invite them over in lieu of their own little house. All you have to do is take a regular wooden birdhouse and superglue little stones from your garden to it. If you lack stones from your garden, you can easily buy a pack or use another material like crystals or mini tiles.
Design Scapes
Unlike large design projects like building pergolas, paving a walkway, or putting up a fence, you don’t need a professional to do these minor elements. However, if you require upgrades that involve extensive construction or design, please reach out to Design Scapes today. We will help you from design to finish!
